IASTM
Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) is a manual technique your physical therapist can perform using a plastic or metal tool or “blade.” Your therapist can perform IASTM using a variety or pressures and speeds to help healing and inflammation, facilitate a contraction (turn a muscle on), or inhibit a muscle (turn a muscle off).
Cupping Therapy
Cupping can boost skin health, help with respiratory issues and improve digestion. It’s been used to speed up recovery from the flu and common colds by improving immunity. It also reduces symptoms from disorders like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
Electrical Stimulation
Electrical stimulation can be used for a wide variety of conditions, including acute sports-related or auto accident-related injuries, repetitive stress injuries, muscle strains, ligament sprains, and even neurological conditions including stroke.
Kinesio Taping
The goal of kinesio tape is to enhance blood circulation at targeted areas, thereby reducing pain and improving recovery time following an injury.
Cervical/Lumbar Traction
Traction works by stretching the spine which opens up the individual spinal segments and reduces pressure on the discs allowing for improved circulation and the promotion of healing. It may be beneficial in treating herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, pinched nerves, bone spurs, and sciatica.
